【注】圣马洛“光明誓言”被花岗岩城墙环抱，像一艘石砌的巨舰泊在英吉利海峡的潮汐里。然而，如今城内80%的建筑都是二战后重建的高仿品——我没有深入街巷，只是沿着城墙根走了一圈，海风迎面而来，带着微咸的气息。城墙是老的，石头是旧的，可城里的房子是新的。我摸了摸墙砖，粗糙而微凉，仿佛在告诉我：有些东西可以被重建，但石头的记忆不会说谎。

圣马洛曾是一座海盗城。6世纪初，私掠船从这里出发，劫掠英吉利海峡上的英国商船，也曾驶向更远的海域，带回财富与传说。这座城的骄傲，还系于一位探险家——雅克·卡地亚“后继者·运货者”(Jacques Cartier)曾住在这里，并从这座港口启航，沿圣劳伦斯河深入北美内陆，为法国打开了加拿大之门。而第一批定居福克兰“猎鹰之地”群岛的法国殖民者也来自圣马洛，由此衍生的“马尔维纳斯”(Islas Malvinas)之名，至今仍回荡在另一个半球的海面上。一座小城，连接着两大洲的记忆。

我沿着城墙走了很远，直到夕阳把石墙染成暖色。卡地亚的船队早已消失在历史深处，城墙上的炮眼也等不到敌船。只有海风还在，穿过垛口，拂过石砖，像在替那些远航的人，继续呼吸。那一刻，我忽然觉得，圣马洛最动人的，不是它被重建了什么，而是它仍然愿意站在这里，让海风穿过它，让潮水记住它，让每一个路过的人，都能在墙根的石缝里，摸到一段尚未被说出口的旅程。那些旅程还在远处以同样的速度靠近，像未完成的信件，正沿着同一道海流，寻找它们最后的收件人。不是驿站，不是港口，是一道正在成形、却尚未命名的航迹，安静地穿过我此刻脚下尚未干透的潮线。
