【My Religion Is Love】

                I belong to no religion.

                My religion is Love.

        The minute I'm disappointed, I feel encouraged.

        When I'm ruined, I'm healed.

        When I'm quiet and solid as the ground, then I talk

        the low tones of thunder for everyone.

        We are the mirror as well as the face in it.

        We are tasting the taste of this minute

        of eternity. We are pain

        and what cures pain. We are

        In pain, I breathe easier.

        The sacred child is running from the house, screaming,

        I hear the gentleness.

        Under nine layers of illusion, whatever the light,

        on the face of any object, in the ground itself,

        I see your face.

        The human shape is a ghost

        made of distraction and pain.

        Sometimes pure light, sometimes cruel,

        trying widely to open,

        this image tightly held within itself.

        Today, like every other day, we wake up empty

        and frightened. Don’t open the door to the study

        and begin reading. Takedown a musical instrument.

        Let the beauty we love be what we do.

        There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.

        When I am with you, we stay up all night.

        When you’re not here, I can’t go to sleep.

        Praise God for these two insomnias!

        And the difference between them.

        Friend, our closeness is this:

        Anywhere you put your foot, feel me

        in the firmness under you.

        How is it with this love,

        I see your world and not you?

        O Friend, You made me lovingly

        You clothed me in a robe of skin and blood

        the planted deep inside me

        a seed from Your heart.

        You turned the whole world

        into a sanctuary where

        You are the only One.

            在我失望的一刻，我感受到鼓舞。

            当我被毁坏，我同时也在康复。

            当我像大地一样安静坚实，那时候

            我便可以用低低的雷声与众人讲话。

            我们是镜子，也是镜中的容颜。

            我们品尝此刻，来自永生的味道，

            我们是苦痛，也是苦痛的救星。我们是

            甜蜜，清凉的水，也是泼水的罐子。

            在苦痛中，我呼吸得更加自如。

            圣洁的孩童从房子里跑出，大声叫嚷，

            我听见了温柔。

            在九层幻觉之下，不管那是怎样的光线，

            照耀在任何事物表面，或大地自身

            我看到你的容颜。

            人的形状是一个幽灵

            由干扰和痛苦组成。

            有时是纯净的光，有时是残忍，

            极力地大大张开，

            这个紧紧掩含在它内部的意象。

            今天，像其他的日子一样，我们在空虚中醒来

            兀自惊惶。别这样去推开书房的门扉

            进入阅读。先取下一件乐器。

            让我们热爱的美成为我们的所为。

            跪下来亲吻大地，有成百种方式。

            当我和你一起时，我们整夜醒着。

            当你不在这里时，我无法入睡。

            为这两种失眠感谢主吧！

            也为它们之间的不同。

            朋友，我们亲密如是：

            在任何一个你置足的地方，

            通过你脚下的坚实，感受我。

            这爱怎么会是这样，

            我看到你的世界，却看不到你？

            哦，我的朋友，你满心爱意的创造了我

            你给了我血肉之躯

            然后把你心中的种子

            你把整个世界放进你的避难所里

【注】博斯普鲁斯“牛渡口”海峡号称世上最窄的国际航道，而在最窄的地方，欧洲的窗户能看见亚洲的窗帘。对面喊一声，这边听得见——不是夸张，是真的。我站在欧洲这边，看见亚洲那边阳台上晾着的衣裳，红一块，蓝一块，在风里飘。水从黑海来，往马尔马拉“大理石”海去，青的，流得急，打着旋。岸上有城堡，有清真寺，有木头房子，有石头宫殿。欧洲那边是教堂的圆顶，亚洲那边是宣礼塔的尖顶，海峡在中间，不偏不倚，分开了，也连着。

站在加拉塔“高卢人”桥上，往北看是黑海的方向，往南看是马尔马拉海。船来来往往，从欧洲到亚洲，20分钟。不是比喻，是真的——我买张船票，一杯茶还没凉，人已经站在了另一块大陆上。太阳落的时候，海峡是金的。水是金的，船是金的，房子是金的，人的脸也是金的。宣礼塔的喇叭响了，歌声在水面上荡，荡到欧洲，荡到亚洲。船上有人跟着唱，岸上有人停下来听，桥上的我，忽然不知道该站在哪一边。其实不需要选，海峡不分东西，它只是流。白天流，夜里也流。船灯亮了，一串一串的，从黑海的方向来，往马尔马拉海去，像天上的星星掉下来，在水上排队。我说不出哪一颗是欧洲的，哪一颗是亚洲的。它们只是亮着，一起亮着。

我靠在加拉塔桥的栏杆上，想着2,000多年来，希腊人、罗马“力量”人、拜占庭“东罗马”人、奥斯曼“智慧”人，都从这片水上走过。他们修的城墙还在，他们建的教堂改成了清真寺，他们种的树还在结果子。海峡没变，还是那么窄，窄到欧洲和亚洲可以隔水说话，窄到我觉得世界其实不大，就是眼前这片水。水是拦不住人的，船来来往往，20分钟一趟。可人心里的海峡，比这个窄，也比这个宽——窄的时候对面喊一声听不见，宽的时候不用船，一个念头就过去了。我看着水往南流，觉得自己也在流，不是随着水，是跟着时间。时间在这里不是直的，是圆的，绕着海峡转，转一圈是一天，转很多圈是一辈子。太阳又落了，水又金了。明天它还会再金一次，还会再流。我走了它还在，流给下一个站在桥上的人看，流给那些窗户对着窗户的人看。
