【注】魯昂“紅房子”如同淬鍊的時光膠囊，邀我一同以時間為引線穿梭其中： 羅馬帝國與不列顛“英國佬”之間的貿易基地，早在公元10世紀，維京“海盜”人變成諾曼“北歐人”後，魯昂便為諾曼底的省會。 飽受戰爭洗禮，先因普法戰爭被普魯士占領(1870—1871)，後在英法百年戰爭(1337—1453)期間被英國統治長達30年之久，而最為著名的莫過於聖女貞德在此受審並被火刑處決。第一次世界大戰，英國將魯昂用作補給基地(1916—1917)，城內設有許多部隊醫院；第二次世界大戰，該城又被德國占領(1940—1944)，爾後遭到嚴重破壞，約四分之一的古建被盟軍炸毀。 法國文學的滋生地，高乃依的《熙德》(Le Cid or Lord 1636)、福樓拜的《包法利夫人》(Madame Bovary 1857)及其弟子莫泊桑的《羊脂球》(Boule de Suif or The Dumpling 1880)、馬洛的《苦兒流浪記》(Sans Famille or Nobody's Boy 1878)等深受中國讀者的喜愛。
此外，經典的半木結構房屋和哥特式建築瑰寶似乎隱藏在每個角落；其標誌性大教堂——魯昂的巴黎聖母院華麗的外牆是莫奈“錢幣”(Monet)熱衷的主題；著名的14世紀天文鐘鑲嵌在框架別致且鍍金精美的拱形塔樓中；舊集市廣場見證了1431年聖女貞德的寧死不屈……
