【注】勒阿弗爾“海港”是莫奈的家鄉，他在這裡畫下《日出·印象》，用光影與霧氣定義了現代藝術的起點。然而這座孕育了印象派的城市，卻在二戰結束時遭受毀滅性打擊——納粹摧毀了港口，盟軍將市中心夷為廢墟。自2005年起，勒阿弗爾被列入聯合國教科文組織《世界遺產名錄》，成為一封獻給現代主義的情書。法籍比利時建築師佩雷“磐石”(Perret)用混凝土重建了這座城市，紀念碑式的建築透出堅定的自信，倖存的舊遺蹟被巧妙融入新的結構——即使單調的民宅令人沮喪，那些不同意佩雷理念的遊客，依然可以在水泥街道上享受漫步的快樂，因為這座城本身就是一座露天博物館。

今天是我第三次來勒阿弗爾。順道最想看的，卻是巴西建築師尼邁耶的遺作——2013年我在巴西利亞“紅木炭火之地”領教過他的想象力，那些流動的混凝土曲線至今還在記憶中盤旋。而此刻站在勒阿弗爾的尼邁耶作品前，我意識到，偉大的建築師從不屬於某個國家——他們用線條與空間，與世界對話。佩雷以幾何的嚴謹重建了一座被戰爭抹去的城市，而尼邁耶則以曲線回應，讓混凝土像被風吹動一樣彎曲、傾側、偏離軸線。那些弧線像是專門為彌補佩雷直線中的留白而設，像是兩位不同時代的建築師在用各自的語言，共同完成一段關於“站立與懸浮”的跨時空對話，在廣場邊緣形成一道持續發展的引力場。而光的反射與混凝土的曲面之間，也以各自的方式，繼續着關於“如何站立”的對話，以風的速度，在牆體與牆體之間的空隙里，持續傳遞一種不需要被命名、卻可以被感知的協調。

我站在佩雷的直線與尼邁耶“管家”(Niemeyer)的曲線交匯處——重建一座城市，原來不是回到過去，而是讓廢墟成為地基，讓裂痕成為記憶的第一行字。那些混凝土牆面上的光影，正是未被修復的部分，正以它們自己的方式，為所有後來的建築提供一種不依賴坐標的參照。當我離開時，那些直線與曲線之間的縫隙仍以未被縫合的狀態保持着，像是兩位建築師為不同世紀留下的共振腔。而那道被光與混凝土共同校準的路徑，將在我體內持續延伸，以佩雷的直線和尼邁耶的曲線交替的節奏，讓我在未來的每一次回望中，都能辨認出自己與那段被摧毀又重建的海岸線之間的距離，並在不需要方向感的情況下，仍然能根據體內那道被雙重傾斜度標記過的路徑，找到通往下一座港口的路。
