Mon., July 16, 2012 The first thing we did this morning was learn how to dance "Wells Fargo Wagon" in "The Music Man Jr." Well, it wasn't dancing. I felt more like walking around in the right style, which was lame, boring, and dull. The only significant thing was that I sang with my pals in a trio. We did that all morning long. Break passed so swiftly that I had to gallop to Room 150 to practice "Ice Cream." Three minutes later, we were called to the theater for "Rock Island." After the junior camp saw it, they sat there gaping in awe. Before heading home, I saw a script left in the theater's seat. It included a picture of Marian, who played Zaneeta Shinn, the older daughter of River City's mayor, in Music Man. I ran and caught her opening a locked door to the cafeteria. Tues., July 17, 2012 This morning was inspiring and exhausting. We played from "Iowa Stubborn" to "Till There Was You." Meanwhile, we had to learn about the chase scene. It wasn't very easy. The cast was running at the top speed in the pell-mell direction. It seemed to go on forever. The director called it organized chaos. Finally, we had a break that looked as if it would never come. My bag of Sun Chips tasted saltier than I usually expected it. That was why I drank half of my water bottle in one breath. I went inside to see the people in the costumes. My favorite was Ivy, who played the conductor on the train to "Rock Island." He wore an oversized blue leather coat with a black shirt inside. Two rows of gold buttons (fake) down the side. His black pants covered his shoes completely. I didn't do much after the costumes. Instead, I just sat backstage. But when Marian, the leading actress, and Harold, the main actor, KISSED, everyone cheered so loud that it hurt my eardrums. We were lucky that the junior campers didn't see us. Wed., July 18, 2012 The teacher asked us to run Act 2 of "The Music Man Jr.". It was prolonged. Once I had to sit back on stage, my legs couldn't sustain my weight. Unfortunately, the scene changed. The thing I was sitting on was a prop. It was moved onto the stage afterward. By the time the break came, I was starving to death. I gulped down with my bag of Sun Chips. Then, I had plenty of time to watch Jason on his iPhone. It was awesome when we saw Bill do the side effects during practice. Although a few of the mistakes happened, there wasn't anything that could spoil this day!! Thurs., July 19, 2012 I got there almost 20 minutes early this morning. When our camp started, I had already read my script and made a paper cup for fun. Today, we ran Act 1 of "The Music Man Jr.". "Rock Island" was my favorite. I was exhausted, and my legs got more painful with every step. It was because we were on a train when we played in "Rock Island." It was supposed to be bumpy on the train. So we had to bounce the whole time. The teacher made us do it repeatedly until the break-in, 10 minutes later, except for the "Pick-a-Little" ladies. After a break, we learned the bows. People were split into nine groups, with the most important going to the last. I was in the fourth group. Fri., July 20, 2012 It became a damp, pouring, rainy day, the worst way to start our first run. I was soaking wet and dripping with raindrops. However, my brand-new shoes were not ruined. To my relief, they behaved like a pair of waterproof boots and weren't as soggy as me. There was a delay this morning because the councilors came all late. We had a five-minute break listening to Beth, our stage director. He told us to bring a towel for the show. So, when we ate snacks, the towel protected the costume from crumbs that wouldn't get to touch it directly. We finished the run 10 minutes late. So, people in Pick-Ups were dismissed first, which was very rare. The councilors thought wrong about being late. We were released even earlier than usual. Mom was surprised to see us all waiting outside for pickup. It was six minutes ahead. Before we left, we all said goodbye to one of our councilors, Eric, who was leaving for good. He used to be a leader in logistics and always carried his laptop to work on. 【红霞译】 星期一，二O一二年七月十六日 今早，我们要做的第一件事便是学跳少儿剧《音乐人•富国马车》舞蹈。这算不上跳舞，只不过来回走步而已，说起来真有点松散、单调、乏味。唯一提神的当属三重唱小段，整个上午我们没再干其它事情。 中途休息得很短，以至于我不得不匆匆忙忙赶往150号教室练习《冰激凌》。三分钟过后，我们又被招呼去剧院准备《石岛》歌舞。小班营员见此状况，竟紧张得目瞪口呆。 临回家前，我发现有一剧本落在剧院的座位上，里面夹着玛丽安的相片，她在这出百老汇剧目中扮演瓒尼塔•西恩──“河城”镇长的大女儿。这时只见玛丽安恰好推门去餐厅，我赶紧跑过去把剧本给了她。 星期二，二O一二年七月十七日
今早我们兴奋得过了头，结果人人精疲力竭。我们从《爱荷华本性》排演到《相爱》结束，期间还得学会舞台串场，真不容易。全体演员拉开阵势跑来跑去，看来一时半会儿难以消停下来，导演认为我们这是趁机起哄。 好不容易轮到盼望已久的休憩，我觉得太阳牌玉米片吃起来好像格外咸，这也是为什么我一口气喝下了半瓶子水。 我跑去看同伴们试穿服装，最喜欢扮演开往《石岛》列车乘务员阿维穿的那身：白衬衫配超大的蓝色皮外套，双排金扣(假的)吊挂在两旁，黑裤子把双脚遮得严严实实。 看完试装后，我坐在台上无所事事。当女主角玛丽安和男一号哈罗德排演接吻时，全场顿时群情激昂，哄闹声震耳欲聋，幸亏小班演员不在现场。 星期三，二O一二年七月十八日
老师要求我们试演少儿剧《音乐人》第二幕，节奏实在太慢。我一屁股坐了下来，两条腿简直支撑不住身体的重量。不巧，场景有所变化，我坐的东西要被挪到舞台上去。 休息时分，我饿得要死，狼吞虎咽带来的太阳牌玉米片。剩下大部头的时间，我一直盯着杰森拨弄他的“苹果”四频段全球移动通信系统手机。 排练期间我们有幸观赏比尔调试剧场灯光，尽管出了些差错，但丝毫没有影响我们赏心悦目！！ 星期四，二O一二年七月十九日
早上，我提前了将近20分钟来到夏令营。因此当正式排练时，我已经读完了整个剧本，并做了一个纸杯子自娱自乐。 今天我们排练少儿剧《音乐人》第一幕，《石岛》是我最喜欢的节目。我累极了，只要一抬腿就痛得厉害。这归咎于排练《石岛》时，我们得假装坐在正在行驶并且摇晃不止的火车里。除了扮演《都市欲望》的女士们例外，我们需按老师的要求反复练习，直到10钟休息为止。 休息过后，我们开始学习鞠躬谢幕。大家被分成9组，最后离开舞台的都是剧组顶梁级重要人物，我属于第四梯队。 星期五，二O一二年七月廿日
今天乌云密布，大雨滂沱，头一回整场练习竟碰上这么恶劣的天气。我被淋得像只落汤鸡，好在刚穿在脚上的新鞋完好无损，如同防水雨靴一般，不像我浑身上下淋得不成样子。早上排练推迟了好长一段时间才开始，因为所有的工作人员全部迟到。 我们花了5分钟休息时间聆听舞台导演贝斯训话。他要我们每人带来一条毛巾，每当演出期间吃零食时，一定要把毛巾铺在演出服外面，以免掉下来的食物喳子弄脏衣服。 10分钟后我们结束排练时，等待接送直接回家的营员反倒首先放行，这可是极为罕见的事情。工作人员以为晚点，实际上根本没有。结果待妈妈卡着点来到营地门口的时候，我们早已提前了6分钟站在外面等候。 临行前，我们与其中一位名叫艾利克的工作人员道别，今天是他最后一天与我们相处。他曾经负责后勤，常常手提电脑工作。 【后语】 夏令营简讯是我家童少向家人介绍暑假生活的一种日记方式。自五岁学前班老师要求报道流水帐开始，到如今九岁三年纪纯粹满足家长好奇心为止，无论悲喜忧乐，还是趣闻轶事，他都以迅雷不及掩耳之势快速概括过目烟云。做家长的我们也从字里行间潦草的笔迹和生硬的语句中练就出一套连蒙带猜的过硬本领，进而有幸品味与自己完全不同的童年经历。
