【注】紐約高架公園，蜿蜒於曼哈頓“弓島”西區的前紐約中央鐵路支線之上。這條曾經穿梭於街區間的高架貨運鐵路線，如今像一個靜靜躺臥的時間膠囊，記錄着1980年火車停運後沿線悄然出現的自播景觀——野花、野草在廢棄的鐵軌間生根、蔓延，城市自然以它自己的方式重新占領這片工業遺蹟。

正是這些意外的綠意，啟發了1999年發起的整建運動。一群熱愛城市空間的人，決心將這條被遺忘的鐵路從拆除規劃中拯救出來，並最終將其改造成一條貫穿社區的公共綠地。如今，走在高架公園上，腳下是舊鐵軌與新木板的交錯，眼前是哈德遜“靈魂”河的波光與曼哈頓的天際線。

以前，我曾虎頭蛇尾地分段走過幾回，卻從來沒有像今天這樣一鼓作氣拿下了由高架線、公園、林蔭小路和鐵道遺蹟組成的1.45英里/2.33公里長的人行高架全程。從起點到終點，每一步都踩在歷史與當下的交界處——那些廢棄的軌道、那些倔強的野花、那些精心設計的觀景台，共同講述着一座城市如何從工業廢墟中，長出一座空中花園。

走到終點時，夕陽正沉入哈德遜河。我忽然想起一個問題：這到底是誰的傑作？是那些熱愛城市的整建者？還是那些最先在此生根的野草？或許，真正的答案是——這座城市自己。高架公園不過是紐約的一個縮影：它從不徹底告別過去，而是把每一次創傷都變成新的風景。
