【注】大教堂广场，是佛罗伦萨“花城”的精神中心，也是这座城市历史中心的灵魂所在。从古罗马时代起，这里就是佛罗伦萨的心脏——广场上矗立着圣母百花大教堂、圣乔万尼“神慈”洗礼堂和乔托钟楼，三座建筑共同构成了文艺复兴时期最壮丽的建筑群。 但丁“永恒”时代的佛罗伦萨，还没有我们今天看到的这些建筑。13世纪末，但丁还是个少年时，老圣雷帕拉塔“已恢复”教堂还占据着广场的一角，而圣母百花大教堂才刚刚动工。但丁一定无数次走过这片广场，在圣乔万尼洗礼堂接受洗礼，在广场上遇见他的贝阿特丽切，在佛罗伦萨的政治纷争中目睹那些后来出现在《神曲》里的人物。 站在今天的广场上，闭上眼睛，仿佛能穿越回但丁的时代。1293年的某个清晨，年轻的但丁穿过广场，阳光刚刚照亮洗礼堂的八角形穹顶。他或许会停下脚步，看着那些正在施工的大教堂工地，想象着这座建筑完成后的模样。他不知道，600年后，人们会把他写进历史，把这条他走过的路叫做“但丁之路”。 如今的大教堂广场，依然是佛罗伦萨最热闹的地方。游客从早到晚络绎不绝，在教堂前拍照，在洗礼堂外排队，在钟楼下仰望。但如果你在清晨或黄昏来到这里，当人群散去，夕阳把教堂的穹顶染成金色时，你依然能感受到那个但丁时代的佛罗伦萨——一座在艺术与信仰中诞生的城市，一座穿越了八个世纪依然鲜活的古城。 1982年，佛罗伦萨历史中心被联合国教科文组织纳入《世界遗产名录》。 Today in History(历史上的今天):
