        Every time the bucks went clattering

        Over Oklahoma

        A firecat bristled in the way.

        Wherever they went,

        They went clattering,

        Until they swerved,

        In a swift, circular line,

        To the right,

        Because of the firecat.

        To the left,

        Because of the firecat.

        The bucks clattered.

        The firecat went leaping,

        To the right, to the left,

        And

        Bristled in the way.

        Later, the firecat closed his bright eyes

                一只火猫挡住了去路。

                沿着快速环形线，

                向右，

                因为火猫。

                雄鹿嘎嗒。

                火猫飞身跳跃，

                向右边、向左边，

                而且

                挡住了去路。

                然后，火猫闭上明眸

                睡下。

【注】这个星期天恰逢母亲节，我轮到宾夕法尼亚“山林”州光华中文学校值班。一走进校园，便感受到一股不同寻常的热闹气氛——原来各班级选拔出来的学生们正在参加2024年年级识字比赛。他们端坐在教室里，神情认真又带着几分兴奋，像是在迎接一场属于自己的小小盛典。

这场识字比赛，将原本科班教学中趣味性的记忆，变成了一场带有红包刺激的比拼。孩子们你追我赶，抢答声此起彼伏，稚嫩的脸上写满了投入与欢喜。我不禁想起国内上初小的同龄少年儿童——不知他们是否也能享受到被奶爸宝妈哄着登擂台的滋润，像眼前这些正值春天初绽的花朵一样，洋溢着随性的稚气，在鼓励与掌声中快乐成长。

窗外阳光正好，母亲节的温馨与孩子们的笑脸交织在一起，让人感受到一种跨越文化的共通情感：无论身在何处，那份对下一代的呵护与期待，总是如此相似。
