【注】初次听到“虎城”这个绰号，我们这些外来人禁不住愣了一下——那片被峡湾环抱、森林簇拥的北欧之城，怎么会和老虎扯上关系？可我们若在十二月抵达，便什么都懂了。天光短得像一声叹息，下午三点街灯就亮了，寒风从峡湾灌进来，如无形的利爪，挠着每一寸裸露的皮肤。这时我们才恍然：老虎不在动物园的铁栅后面，就是这座城市本身。它蛰伏在铅灰色的天幕下，安静时温驯如猫，翻脸时却能冻得人骨骼生疼。 “虎城”出自一位丹麦诗人比昂松“熊之子”的诗句。19世纪的奥斯陆“山脚下的草地”还叫克里斯蒂安尼亚“基督追随者”，在丹麦人眼中，那是穷乡僻壤，是风雪交加的边陲。“虎城”二字本是讥讽——挪威人的首都，不过是一头徒有其表的笼中困兽。可挪威人偏偏接住了这个绰号，像接住一颗掷来的石子，攥在手心里，慢慢攥出了温度。 “虎城”的严酷，远不止于气候。这里的物价能把初来者的钱包咬出一个窟窿，社交距离也如峡湾的水面，表面平静，底下深不见底。可野性的另一面，是另一种生机——年轻人在这座虎城里活得热腾腾的，咖啡馆永远坐满了人，歌剧院的大理石斜坡上永远有人躺着晒太阳。 峡湾的水在夏天会变成蓝绿色，森林的蘑菇在秋天铺满松针，冬天的雪把整座城裹成一张白纸。这时再想起“虎城”这个绰号，它不再是一个警告，更像一种邀请——邀请我们走进这座城的野性里，看看严酷的表象之下，藏着怎样一颗跳动的、温暖的心。 Today in History(历史上的今天):
