The highlight of the trip, the pinnacle of the summer, is the only reason I wanted to come on this surprising cruise...The leaning tower of Pizza.

Or Pisa, whatever. I call it Pizza because it's in Italy and looks cool. Simple thinking for the simple-minded. What's not simple-minded is the geometry of the tower. It is now a whopping four degrees off its center. That doesn't sound so spectacular, especially with how many tourists go there a year. The reason behind the tilting, if you don't already know, is the soft bed of ground its structure sits on between two rivers the Arno and the Serchio. Not only does the tower continue to sink, but people love watching it do so. One day I'm hoping some tourists are going to tap the side of the tower and have it collapse on them in a massive heap.

Regardless, terrible planning deals with half the world's attention. Imagine seeing twenty different people of multiple nationalities, shouting different languages, all posing in the traditional, hey-I'm-holding-up-the-tower stance. It's also surprising that we got decent pictures. I mean, when a massive army of Chinese tourists arrives at the scene, you can't expect to have an ounce of breathing space, but we peeked out just in time. It's a miracle in the mud.

I will say, once I reached the base of the building, it was much less impressive in person. Some things in life, you over-imagine in your head, a painful buildup for when you finally have the opportunity to experience it. That's what happened every time I got the new Pokemon game. Utter disappointment. The same occurred for the Leaning Tower of Pisa. I pictured an absolute skyscraper, tilted forty-five degrees off its axis, and creaking at the seams. While that may seem impossible and stupid, dreams are the only way of experiencing something across the globe, and I have a vivid imagination.

However, Pisa cannot be denied its Epoch-making masterpiece. It is nothing short of spectacular that the tower hasn't crushed some humans yet, so I'll give it props. I'll also say that I'm glad climbing the tower is still allowed, although I missed the time slot. It only takes one idiot to slip and fall for that rule to change. Until that day, I'm hoping to return and fully immerse myself in a trek to the top of the tower.

And that was it. The highlight of my summer. Not exactly how I thought it would go, but I enjoyed it nevertheless. The time around, I'll give myself a few hours to make sure I get a slot to climb since the ground view is only half the picture.

这次旅游的热门景点亦即今夏首推的地方──河口斜塔，它是我登上惊喜游轮的唯一动力。

干脆叫它比萨得嘞，直呼披萨也成，毕竟此时此刻我恰好身居意大利，能把两者混为一谈感觉很酷，反正懒人自有懒办法，只是斜塔几何学并不一般，现在它已偏离中轴线四度有余，听起来没啥大惊小怪，尤其与前来围观的游客数量相比无足轻重。假如你仍然一头雾水，那就换个角度来谈，塔身之所以倾斜是因为地处亚诺河与塞尔基奥河之间的土质疏松，致使斜塔持续下陷，反倒正中游客下怀，但愿有一天有些游客轻掸斜塔，结果让它以排山倒海之势应声朝人群塌去。

不管怎样，这多逆天奇葩狂“引无数英雄竞折腰”，试想眼见廿位操持多种语言的诸国游客较劲喧哗，大家齐声高呼口号：“嘿 —我— 举—起—斜—塔”，景象蔚为壮观。我们抓拍的相片居然效果不错，要知道成群结队的国人同胞集结现场，简直让你无立锥之地，幸好我们见缝插针，趁机捡了大便宜。

要我说，只要接近斜塔底部就没先前那么震撼了，如同世间某些事情，想象的总比经历的更加栩栩如生，每次我玩新的《神奇宝贝》均以彻底失望而收场，河口斜塔也不例外。我拍摄一张完美无瑕的摩天大楼：以45度斜角偏离轴线，接缝处裂痕斑斑，这种取景似乎既非现实也很荒诞，但只有穿越地球亲眼目睹之后，我才得以放飞遐思。

河口斜塔不失为一部划时代杰作，迄今虽然尚未倒塌砸伤何人，但依我看丝毫无损于它的壮观形象。值得一提的是，我庆幸时至今日仍然允许爬高，尽管本人没赶上合适的时间，但凡有一个笨蛋滑倒跌下来都会影响现有规定，希望在那天到来之前我再度赶来专门攀登斜塔之巅。

就谈这些，今夏热点话题到此结束，并非事事如愿，但我还算玩得尽兴。下次我会多拿出几个钟头的富裕时间以确保登塔无误，地面视角终究比较局限。
