             因而，音樂家，在你固定的束腰

             噴灑別的香水。在你蒼白的頭頂

             纏條帶子，飾有致命的寶石。

             虛幻不實，把你曾經賜與的元素還給我們：

             我們唾棄而又嚮往的想象力。

【注】中央公園橫跨四條大道、縱穿40巷街，是全美第一處集趣味性、文藝性、知識性和觀賞性於一體的景觀樂土。從上個世紀90年代初起，無論自行閒逛，還是陪朋友遊玩，迄今我始終沒有看全園內的65件雕像、紀念碑、裝飾物等美術作品，難怪每次歸來都期待下次再見，這也是中央公園的魅力所在。當然最能打動我內心深處的要算刻在沃爾多·哈金斯“強大·靈魂”(Waldo Hutchins)長椅上的至理名言：一個人如果想為自己而活，就必須為另一個人而活。
