Right now, our team has only taken one loss. It was also quite a significant loss, getting somewhat routed through four quarters. However, there was one point in that game where we had momentum. Our team went on a 10-2 or so run, which was surprising, and it put us only down by one. Unfortunately, we still lost that game, but it was closer than it seemed. I am just going to say it now. We lost our second game today. I don’t feel that bad, even if I played terribly or the team couldn’t make a single three-pointer. In other words, today wasn’t a good day. The game started with both sides having four consecutive turnovers, which never feels good. I’m pretty sure I had more turnovers than points, which is quite depressing, even for a bad player. Yet the game was close for the most part. Both teams traded the lead, keeping within two possessions. But our team felt as if we were better. I somewhat agreed with that statement. Our depth was much better because the opposing team had a single-star player. We could quickly build a lead when their star forward was off the floor. The scores climbed up side by side. No team could seize control over the other, and no side was dominant. Once again, we used a zone press and somehow scraped together a few steals. These steals gave us a slight lead in the third quarter, but a few threes by the other team put them right back on top. Approaching crunch time is when effort decides games. Whoever wants to win the most will win. And it looks like today wasn’t us. The opposing team slowly stretched the lead, one possession at a time. The lead ballooned to nine from an easy bucket of turnover to a long-time-wasting play. Finally, our coach put the best three-point shooters and rebounders, including me, on the floor and said to shoot only threes. With desperation growing, I understood this game was a lost cause. I think the last quarter's struggle was worthwhile in this loss. But this loss knocked us out of first place in the league, which sucked a lot. Still, the feeling of the fire of competition burning in your lungs at the final stretch of a close game was irreplaceable. At least we weren’t like some game, which ended up being a 1-point game. 【红霞译】
截至到目前为止，我队仅输过一场球，而且输得惨不忍睹，好像整个四节比赛始终处于被动状态，不过我们一度打出一个10比2的小高潮，出人意料地将比分追回到仅有一分之差，可惜最后未能扭转落后局面，只不过把分差缩小了一点而已。
话说今天这场比赛，我队再度失利，不仅本人打得绝对有失水准，而且其他所有队员也未能投中一个三分球，所以我并没有那么沮丧。
换句话说，今天不是什么好日子。比赛刚开始，双方便连续四次出现失误，如此开场真够晦气的，而我丢的球确实比挣的分要多得多，尽管本人功底薄球艺差，但难免情绪失落。比赛尚未过半，两队你争我夺，整场比赛双方差距始终保持在两个球以内，不过咱哥们自我感觉良好。
我也有点一瓶子不满半瓶子晃荡，毕竟对方依靠单个球星独当一面；相形之下，我队战术更加全面，大可趁这位前锋场下休息之际，痛痛快快地涮他们一把。
场上比分交替上升，彼此势均力敌，谁都无法牵制住对方，我们再度使用区域紧逼战术并成功断过几次球。第三节中，正是凭借断球打法，我们得以暂时领先，但是对方接连投进了几个三分球，重又回到霸主地位。
比赛进入紧要关头，胜负输赢取决于临场发挥，只有顽强拼搏才能取得最终胜利，看来今天我队无缘问鼎，面对他们稳扎稳打，一个球一个球地赢，从断球投篮到采用拖延战术，比分逐渐被拉开九分之多。终场前，教练急中生智，让三分球手和篮板手（包括我在内）统统出动，并下令尽全力投三分球。
随着绝望不断加剧，我渐渐悟出这场球失败的根源，觉得最后一节无力扭转乾坤情有可原。正因为输掉这场比赛，我队名次惨遭影响，被挤下全联赛第一宝座，简直太无情了。然而，经过白热化激烈较量，大家在倾尽洪荒之力后所收获的切身感受是任何东西无法替代的。 幸好这场输赢不像有的比赛仅有一分之差。 Today in History(历史上的今天): 2016 MathCounts Regional Competition(2016年初中数学分区赛)
