【注】約翰·皮爾龐特·摩根“神慈·石橋·環海”(John Pierpont Morgan)在金融投資界聲名顯赫，畢生熱衷鑑賞，經本人收藏的珍品不乏奧地利莫扎特和德國貝多芬等原創樂譜，意大利米開朗基羅、荷蘭倫勃朗、佛蘭德安東尼等畫作真跡，還有浪漫多情的簡·奧斯汀、維多利亞時代的查爾斯·狄更斯、為藝術而藝術的奧斯卡·王爾德等親筆手稿。最後，由查爾斯·麥金“自由人·傾聽”(Charles McKim)加持，設計借鑑了文藝復興風格，終於把摩根圖書館打造成精美的建築瑰寶。
