        A mythology reflects its region. Here

        In Connecticut, we never lived in a time

        When mythology was possible - But if we had -

        That raises the question of the image's truth.

        The image must be of the nature of its creator.

        It is the nature of its creator increased,

        Heightened. It is he, anew, in a freshened youth

        And it is he in the substance of his region

        Wood of his forests and stone out of his fields

        Or from under his mountains.

            提出形象真實性問題。

            形象必須體現其創作者的性格。

            提升。是他，再度青春煥發

            而且是他具備地域特色

            無論是他森林裡的木材還是他田野中的石頭

            或是從他高山的底下。

【注】隨着數字經濟快速發展，數字技術也在迅速向各個領域滲透，2022年9月，位於前移民工業儲蓄銀行大廳、由法國文化空間工作室(Culturespaces)打造的燈光廳——紐約城最大的數字藝術館正式開放，這個周末我恰好趕上目前舉行白俄羅斯裔法國籍畫家馬克·夏加爾“戰神·陶醉”(Marc Chagall，1887—1985)的“夏加爾展·巴黎—紐約”沉浸式虛擬現實畫展。

夏加爾身處藝術和文化不斷創新的十字路口，將創作植根於時代，其多產且難以歸類的素材吸取了馬戲團、寓言故事、歌劇人物、聖經情節以及俄羅斯文化，全部作品和藝術圖像都被投射到燈光廳的牆壁上，如同交織在一起的剪紙圖像，並分別配以古典曲、克萊茲默“希伯來調”(Klezmer)和爵士樂，極具詩意地再現了藝術家豐富的生活內涵和文化意蘊，並且自然地與其民族和同輩經歷產生共鳴。

作為20世紀從最黑暗到最亢奮最偉大歷史事件的見證人，夏加爾將自己大膽而充滿想象力的繪畫變成承諾、和平與希望的工具。
