或許那才是經典、美麗的時刻。 他始終追逐這種平靜 朝向超越浪漫的絕對中心。 【注】今年紐約“新紫衫樹之地”大學的家長會，依舊定在金秋十月的最後一周。雖然紐約仔已經上了大三，不再是那個需要家長牽着手走進校園的新生，但我還是提前一個月上網註冊，希望再度走進那片熟悉的校園，在落葉紛飛的長椅上坐一坐，在圖書館前的台階上站一站，感受那些被時光沖刷過的教育真諦。 哪曾想到，計劃趕不上變化，變化趕不上舊病復發！就在出發前兩天，急性坐骨神經突然作梗，痛得我整個周末只能趴在床上，連翻身都需要咬牙。每一次試圖站起來，都像有一根燒紅的鐵絲從腰部一直穿到腳底。只好將紐約之行順延一周，眼睜睜看着家長會的日子從日曆上划過。 既然錯過了家庭聚會，何不到曼哈頓“弓島”橋和布碌侖“美溪”橋上去浪上一遭？這個念頭在病癒後越來越強烈。秋冬之交，正是紐約最美的季節——陽光斜斜地灑在摩天樓上，哈德遜“靈魂”河上的風帶着一絲凜冽，樹葉從金黃到深紅，層層疊疊地鋪滿街頭。 正趕上期中考試在即，紐約仔也染上了頭疼腦熱的毛病。我們娘兒倆，一個剛熬過坐骨神經的折磨，一個正頂着期中考試的壓力，於是相約下城小福州埠的花園川菜館，用一頓麻辣鮮香的午餐，慰藉彼此疲憊的身心。 餐館裡依舊人聲鼎沸，操着福州口音的鄉親們圍坐在桌邊，熱氣騰騰的水煮魚端上來，紅油在碗裡翻滾。紐約仔埋頭扒飯，間或抬起頭，跟我講着下周的考試、實習的面試、公寓裡新來的室友。我聽着，夾菜給他，偶爾插一句嘴。 吃完午飯，我們沿着東百老匯慢慢走到橋頭堡前。曼哈頓橋的鋼索在陽光下閃閃發光，橋上的地鐵轟隆隆地駛過。該各奔東西了——他要回圖書館複習，我要去橋上吹風。 “媽，你一個人行嗎？”他站在橋頭，有點不放心。 “行，你趕緊回去看書。”我推推他，“考完試給我打電話。” 他點點頭，轉身消失在人群里。我站在原地，看着他的背影漸漸變小，匯入那些匆匆趕路的紐約客中。然後，我獨自走上曼哈頓橋，迎着風，向着布碌侖的方向走去。 1983年與1966年，曼哈頓橋和布魯克林橋分別被納入《美國國家歷史遺蹟名錄》。 Today in History(歷史上的今天): 2023: Civic Center, the Heart of NYC(紐約城的心臟·市政中心) 2023: Immersive Hall des Lumières, NYC(紐約城燈光廳·沉浸式藝術館) 2023: Little Fujian in Manhattan Enclave, NYC(紐約城飛地—小福州) 2014: Tulum Mayan Ruins, Mexico(墨西哥黎明城瑪雅遺址)
