Today was the season’s final game. And this game was probably the most important of them all. The league had separated itself into two main groups: the 7-2 group and the group with a less favorable record. However, the record doesn’t say how good a team is. We almost learned that the hard way last game.

By the way, last year’s champion came into the playoffs as the last seed.

However, today was still the regular season. This game was against one of those 7-2ish teams, so it was crucial to win. A personal side goal of mine is to actually do something, which is always encouraging. Additionally, today’s match pits us against a team we previously lost to.

Luckily, our opponents had only six members attend this game. This happens when you attend the game at 4 on a Saturday afternoon. Our team has consistently attended every game this season, except for individuals like myself and others who participate in band and other activities.

From the outset, we asserted ourselves as the driving force behind this game. We took a commanding ten-point lead with a dominating defensive performance in the first quarter. In the second quarter, the lead grew to nearly twenty. Because we were missing a big man, I had to play center for a quarter. It let me get a good look from the corner, and I knocked down the three. It was my only three points in the game and the only point I scored. I managed to secure a few steals and rebounds, which feels nice.

Early on, the key to success was the press. I felt like the other teams began to beat our press when we played it too long, finding plays to exploit our lack of defenders back or holes in the zone. In this game, because of such a hot start, there was no need to continue pressing the entire game. Additionally, when we pushed, we forced many turnovers. We only played defense on our side of the court three or four times in the second quarter. The other moments were spent grabbing steals or trapping their dribblers on their side of the court. Many easy lay-ups were created when this occurred, resulting in a significant difference on the scoreboard.

Things started to turn around near the end of the third quarter. The opposing team began hitting threes, and our offense was struggling to do anything. But by then, things didn’t matter. At the end of the fourth, we still came out on top by ten, so the win felt convincing.

The more important fact is that our team is probably the top seed in the upcoming playoff bracket. I’m unsure, but there is a significant chance of being the number one seed. In that case, I hope we don’t choke like the Golden State Warriors.

今天是本賽季最後一場比賽，當該算成最為重要的球技較量。組委會將各隊劃分為兩組：七勝二負組與成績平平組，然而積分並非說明真正實力，從上場比賽中我們充分體會到這一點。

順便提一句，去年的冠軍出自季後賽排名墊底的種子隊。

不過今天仍為常規賽，因為迎戰的對手是一支七勝二負隊，所以拿下這場比賽至關重要，我個人也想做點貢獻，爭取為集體爭光，要知道今天披甲上陣的正是我們以前曾經輸過的一支球隊。

僥倖的是對方僅有六人到場，比賽定於周六下午四點鐘，出勤率可想而知。本賽季中除了我本人和其他個別球員因為樂隊及其它活動缺席之外，我隊參賽人數始終保持穩定。

比賽一開始我們就掌握主動，第一節防守嚴密，以十分優勢領先；第二節又將比分差拉開近廿分之多。因為隊裡大個子未到，我被趕鴨子上架挑起中鋒重任，結果愣讓我乘機從邊角發炮歪打正着投進了三分球，該場比賽中我只投中這麼一個三分球，所得分數僅此三分而已，我還斷過幾次球，搶到幾個籃板球，自我感覺不錯。

這場比賽我隊靠緊逼先聲奪人，後來發覺對方開始適應了這種打法，試圖從防守空當或禁區漏洞上鑽我們的空子。由於開場不久我們便以大比分領先，因此沒再繼續全場緊逼；另外，每當我們採用緊逼戰術難免出現失誤。其實在第二節中，我隊僅僅回到自己的半場防守三至四次，其它時間留守在對方球場要麼斷球要麼夾擊傳球，這種打法一旦奏效，很多球輕鬆送進籃筐，記分板上的分數就有了明顯差異。

當比賽差不多進行到第三節結束時，戰勢開始發生變化，對方着手投射三分球，我隊進攻陷入被動局面，但那時大勢已去，直至第四節結束，我隊始終領先十分，可以說勝券在握。

值得一提的是，如今我隊或許成為接下來進行的季後賽中頭號種子隊，當然我還沒有百分之一百的把握，不過極有可能排名第一，如果真是這樣，我希望本隊千萬別像金州勇士隊那樣把即將到手的冠軍給嘚瑟丟了。
