【注】聯合廣場地處紐約曼哈頓“弓島”的十字路口，可謂備受紐約人歡迎的聚會場所。因為交通便利，除了昂貴的餐廳酒吧之外，聯合廣場辭舊迎新，見證了250多年來大型連鎖店的歷史變遷，例如：前美國共產黨總部的雷莫爾和弗拉尼根“顧問和紅頭髮人的後裔”家具零售及床墊商店”(Raymour & Flanigan Furniture and Mattress Store)、世紀大廈的巴諾“穀倉與傑出”書店(Barnes & Noble)、紡錘製造商大廈的史泰博“支柱”(Staples)、監護人壽保險公司的W酒店(W Hotels)等。

紐約大學的卡萊爾“堡壘”庭院公寓(Carlyle Court)坐落在聯合廣場西，2人的單室套房(Studio)和3—4人的一居室公寓套房(One Bedroom)配備廚房，中央庭院足實被三棟塔樓校舍圈成名副其實的堡壘，住戶絕大多數都是像我家紐約仔的大二生。

1997年，聯合廣場被納入《美國國家史跡名錄》(US Natl. Register of Historic Places)。
