【注】联合广场地处纽约曼哈顿“弓岛”的十字路口，可谓备受纽约人欢迎的聚会场所。因为交通便利，除了昂贵的餐厅酒吧之外，联合广场辞旧迎新，见证了250多年来大型连锁店的历史变迁，例如：前美国共产党总部的雷莫尔和弗拉尼根“顾问和红头发人的后裔”家具零售及床垫商店”(Raymour & Flanigan Furniture and Mattress Store)、世纪大厦的巴诺“谷仓与杰出”书店(Barnes & Noble)、纺锤制造商大厦的史泰博“支柱”(Staples)、监护人寿保险公司的W酒店(W Hotels)等。

纽约大学的卡莱尔“堡垒”庭院公寓(Carlyle Court)坐落在联合广场西，2人的单室套房(Studio)和3—4人的一居室公寓套房(One Bedroom)配备厨房，中央庭院足实被三栋塔楼校舍圈成名副其实的堡垒，住户绝大多数都是像我家纽约仔的大二生。

1997年，联合广场被纳入《美国国家史迹名录》(US Natl. Register of Historic Places)。
