【Aiden in English】 Today was the first day that the sun decided to actually do something. People always say the California coast is summer all year round. They are very wrong, as wintertime brings chilling winds and biting sun glare in Los Angeles. It literally takes a chunk out of your spirit if you stay out too long. Well, those days are over. Instead of a cruel glare freezing my soul, a brutal shine burns away hope piece by piece.
So today, the sun was determined to show up. Great, just when we were leaving. But I'm sort of glad that we're leaving at around noon, and I won't be there to experience the full brutality of the heat. In the early morning, the temperature was already in a t-shirt condition. I still wore long pants and a jacket, prepping for the chilly 40-degree weather in Philadelphia. Thus it didn't take much to set me sweating.
As for L.A., I must say, it did surprise me. I never thought about all the things to do. The Warner Brothers Studio was not known to me because of Universal Studios down in Florida, but no offense to them, I prefer the more educational studio to the amusement park. In this case, Warner Brothers have taught me a lot about movies, even if it does spoil some of my favorite ones.
There's also the giant Griffith Observatory, dedicated to the sky, while simultaneously giving a great view of the Hollywood Sign. It tells its visitors how much they have no idea of and how much they have no idea that they have no idea of.
L.A. houses the Donald Reagan Presidential Library, where the life of Reagan was painted out year by year, achievement by achievement. Although in a few years, few will remember him in person, others can retrace his legacy at this library, and he can continue to be a role model for those interested in politics.
And speaking of 'housing', Beverly Hills houses the richest of the social pyramid, and people like me simply go to see the fronts. If I had long-term goals in my life, then this would be somewhere at the top of my list. Look out, L.A.!
So what's in L.A.?
I think you know.

Today in History(历史上的今天): 2016: Los Angeles the Getty Center, CA(加州洛杉矶—围城中心) 2015: Library of Congress, Washington DC(华盛顿特区国会图书馆) 2014: Dickens Village @ Philly Macy's(费城美西狄更斯村) 2014: Salute to Vienna @ Kimmel Center(费城金梅尔“向维也纳致敬”) 2013: Safari in Selous Game Reserve, TZ(坦桑尼亚塞卢斯禁猎区) 2012: Glacier Alley & Ushuaia(冰川通道和乌斯怀亚) 2010: 节日串连(Holiday Connection)
