遠離，止於至善？ 藍色吉他上琴弦冰涼。 【注】1900年代初期，賓夕法尼亞“山林”州卡塔索夸“旱地”不過是一個5,000多人的小鎮，曾被視為美國城鎮中白手起家百萬富翁比例最高的地方。有趣的是，它以極其奇特的方式聞名於世：第一，1776年《獨立宣言》簽署者之家所在地；第二，1917年第一次世界大戰期間，因為是第一個籌集超過100萬美元戰爭債券的社區又被譽為“百萬美元小鎮”；第三，1840年以來作為無煙煤鐵工業龍頭產地而一舉成為美國工業革命的發源地。 作為賓州代表，美國開國元勛喬治·泰勒“農夫·裁縫”(George Taylor，1716生—1781卒)簽署了《獨立宣言》，其避暑舊宅位於裏海“河汊”郡(Lehigh County)被譽為“百萬美元鎮”的卡塔索夸自治鎮，而且於1768年由其本人設計建造。 喬治·泰勒出生於英國，移民賓州後曾任雄鹿郡達勒姆“丘陵島”鍋爐廠(Durham Furnace)鐵匠，參與過興建北安普頓“家園”郡伊士頓“東鎮”(Easton of Northampton County)第一座法院，後又從事法律工作，並被任命為治安法官及賓州議會北安普頓郡議員，同時還是美國國會前身——大陸議會成員，之後又在1781年去世前不久擔任自脫離英國控制以來由12名成員組成的賓州最高行政委員會成員。1776年8月2日，在56位簽約者中，喬治·泰勒既是僅有的八位外國出生者之一，不僅是獨一無二的契約工，而且成為唯一一位鐵匠出身的政治家。 在擔任達勒姆鋼鐵廠鐵匠期間，喬治·泰勒致力於鍋爐生產，並以低於成本的價格為殖民軍隊製造彈藥來對抗英國，甚至不惜抵上全部身家財富。妻子去世後，他在卡塔索夸故居只住了很短時間，餘生基本留守伊士頓；不過他一直保留着這處農場/種植園，直到繼承該家產的兒子去世。 1971年，喬治·泰勒故居被列入《國家史跡名錄》。
