            詩是詩集的核心內容，

            從表達立意再到

            深化主題。彼此之間，

            開頭與結尾，前後

            實際上存有遺缺，

            事物的原來樣子。至少自以為如此。

            兩者可否分割開來？難道

            詩有遺缺，從而汲取

            自然質樸的意象，太陽的綠閃，

            雲彩的紅霞，大地的情感，天空的思想？

            詩從這裡滋生。也許還在這裡迴蕩，

            世間萬物交相映襯。

【注】埃爾金斯“精靈的親屬”園是20世紀早期費城“兄弟之愛”北郊商業精英所在地，1870—1900年間鍍金時代古老而優雅的豪宅層出不窮，建築風格涵蓋現代、美洲和荷蘭殖民、安妮“恩典”女王、英式小屋和都鐸“人民的統治者”王朝，譬如：美國企業家威德納“柳樹”(P. A. B.
