是寧靜，是夏夜，歸根結底 是夜深看書的讀者。 【注】賓夕法尼亞“山林”州雄鹿郡的廊橋，是這片土地上最溫柔的地標。它們橫跨在那些無名的小溪上，隱沒在楓樹和橡樹的濃蔭里，像是從19世紀走來的老人，靜靜地訴說着往事。 這些橋又被稱作"吻橋"——一個帶着羞澀與浪漫的名字。在那個馬車悠悠的年代，年輕的情侶駕着馬車穿過廊橋，橋內光線昏暗，四下無人，便可以偷偷地親一下。廊橋的頂棚遮住了外界的目光，也遮住了少女臉上泛起的紅暈。據說，在那個禮教森嚴的歲月里，這是年輕人唯一能夠親密接觸的地方。一座廊橋，就這樣成了無數愛情的見證者。 雄鹿郡現存12座這樣的廊橋，大多建於1826年至1875年間，那是美國廊橋建造的黃金時期。它們全部塗着暖調沉穩的紅漆——不是因為紅色好看，而是因為紅漆最便宜，也最能保護木質結構不受風雨侵蝕。鐵鏽紅的橋身在翠綠的樹林和金黃的原野間格外醒目，成了鄉村風景中最動人的點綴。 走進廊橋內部，光線立刻暗了下來。兩側的百葉窗透進幾縷斜陽，照亮了空氣中飄浮的塵埃。車輪在木板上碾過的痕跡，還深深地刻在那裡。橋身的桁架結構交錯縱橫，像巨大的積木搭成的迷宮。用手摸摸那些木樑，還能感受到一百多年前工匠們留下的體溫。 廊橋的質樸魅力，正在於它的不設防。它不像城市裡的鋼鐵大橋那樣巍峨壯觀，只是謙卑地俯身在小溪上，讓農夫的馬車、孩子們的腳步、情侶們的馬車從身上經過。風吹雨打，日曬夜露，它都默默地承受着，從不抱怨。 如今，汽車已經不再需要從廊橋上通過，它們有了更寬闊、更堅固的新橋。但這些老橋還在，成了美國鄉村歷史的象徵。遊客們從世界各地趕來，在橋上拍照，在橋下野餐，在橋邊發呆。偶爾還能看到一對年輕的情侶，在橋的陰影里，悄悄地接吻。 150年的時光，就這樣被一座橋連接了起來。從前的馬車，今天的汽車；從前的情侶，今天的遊客；從前的麥田，今天的風景——一切都變了，又似乎什麼都沒變。廊橋還在，紅色的漆還在，吻橋的名字還在，而那些關於愛的故事，還在繼續發生。  Cabin Run Covered Bridge (1871) w/ Vertical Board Siding on the Sides, Portals & Interior Walls
