The sand was as crystal white as the clouds, and you could clearly see the bottom of the turquoise sea. If you are looking for exotic tropical beauty, the atolls in the Maldives are the perfect place to be. When the boat arrived at the Chaaya Island of North Male Atoll, I zipped off the ship and shot to Dhonveli Beach. It's a unique, authentic Maldivian bungalow architecture that blends seamlessly with nature. When you walk into the ocean back home, you avoid shells. But in the Maldives, you should be looking out for fish. Tiny fish darted around your feet, making it almost impossible to move freely without squishing a mullet or kicking a sea bass. As I continued, the other kids, Alex and Nick, joined me on the cruise. We decided to swim to the nearby uninhabited island, which couldn't be more than a mile or two away. Later, I would say how stupid I was to go on this journey. When we began to swim, problems sprouted like weeds in the summer. Immediately, I noticed that all the corals were dead, and there was no trace of a fish. After a while, a significant problem also arose. The water gradually got shallower, and the dead coral covered the seafloor. Soon enough, I couldn't even kick my feet, and the shore wasn't getting closer. Walking wasn't an option unless you wanted to have holes in your feet. When we finally arrived at the destination, the first question was how we got back. After trying to find an alternative to swimming back, I had no choice. So, we set out again. By the time we reached the shore where we came from, my feet were cut, bruised, and scraped. Even so, I was in good shape. Sometimes you can't expect too many things, like how I expected better of this beach. No shoes, no news. 【紅霞譯】
沙灘宛若白雲水晶般透亮，大海猶如寶石綠清澈見底，如果你熱衷異國情調熱帶風光，馬爾代夫環礁寶地當之無愧。 乘船來到位於北馬累“宮殿”環礁的夢幻島，我迫不及待奔向沙灘海濱，這裡獨特地道極具馬爾代夫民族建築風格的草棚木屋與大自然融為一體，渾然天成。
每當在家門口淌洋度步時，你也許擔心破碎貝殼扎破腳底，但馬爾代夫不同，你應該警惕小魚，它們圍着你的腳丫竄來跳去，稍未留意不是踩上梭魚就是踢到鱸魚。
我昂首闊步，迎面碰上同伴亞歷克斯“人類的捍衛者”和尼克“人民的勝利”倆兄弟，哥仨合計要一起游到一、二海里開外的孤島上瞧瞧，事後我才意識到這真是輕舉妄動。
剛開始游泳，問題接踵而至，猶如夏季雜草雨後春筍般地暴露出來，我察覺出腳下死掉的珊瑚，連魚都不屑到此光顧。又過了一會兒，情況變得更加嚴重，海水越來越淺，死珊瑚全部沉積海底。很快地，我甚至不敢輕易屈張腿腳，岸邊遙不可及，走路並不是明智的選擇，除非你不在乎腳底穿洞；等好不容易到達孤島時，新的問題油然而起，我們怎麼回去？除了重蹈覆轍，我們別無出路。 幾經周折，我們終於凱旋而歸，腳被蹭破皮並劃出血道，紅一塊紫一塊的，儘管如此，我精神尚好。看來凡事不能期待過高，即使對眼前這片倍受熱捧的印度洋上人間最後樂園，同樣如此。
