正直•馮德爾(1587生—1679卒)

• 若我墮落，榮光剝奪，就讓我墮落，頭戴王冠，手握權柄。

【注】荷蘭屬於澤國，60%的領域受到水的威脅，而約26%的土地面臨被淹沒的可能。孩童堤防地處海平面以下，自1740年以來，這裡建造的19座風車、水道、堤壩、磨坊和水閘泵站系統一直巧妙地讓周圍土壤保持乾燥，標識着人類智慧不斷與水進行鬥爭。

1997年孩童堤防被聯合國教科文組織列入《世界遺產名錄》。
