Mon. July 1, 2013

The music teacher made us sing Thoroughly Modern Millie for the kick-off of the Gym. I didn't do anything much other than half of the song. That's 'cause the youngest group in Junior Theater Camp didn't memorize the lyrics. Half an hour later, we were assigned to memorize The Speed Test, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Sweet Mystery of Life. Gym, the music teacher, must've been exhausted since he was leaving before camp.

Next, we had Eric, the dance teacher, teach us the Opening Number until the Charleston. There was a lot of moving around, and my neighbor was one of the unlucky ones. She had to run all the way across the stage—and she had to do it twice!

Just before dismissal, the junior campers came back again and watched us do the dancing. Man! We looked embarrassed because they couldn't stop whispering and giggling about our mess. This wasn't too bad to start off the weeks, though.

今早，音樂老師吉姆先要我們練唱《仙樂美人》主題歌，我投入不多，只唱了半首，因為戲劇營小班營員忘了歌詞，他要求我們用半個小時記熟《速度測試》、《仙樂美人》以及《甜蜜生活的奧秘》。吉姆一定累得不行，提早離開了這裡。

接下來，舞蹈老師埃里克從開場舞起按順序教我們跳舞，直到查爾斯頓搖擺舞為止，我們學了不少舞姿。我身邊的女生實在不走運，因為跳得急，差點摔到台下，不得不再來一次。

結束前，小班營員重新返回劇院觀摩我們跳舞。天哪﹗真叫人掛不住臉，小不點們見我們舞步不整，頻頻交頭接耳笑個不停。不過，本周第一天能有這番表現，還算說得過去。

Tues. July 2, 2013

The day started very quickly, quickly. The gym teacher, Gym, said to warm up with the part we learned yesterday: The Spy. My mouth, lungs, and throat were 100% ready by the time I finished. I thought Gymi well. But the Gym started to accuse us of insulting the world of music.

Next, we cleared Thoroughly Modern Millie again because the young girls couldn't sing low enough in harmony.

When we had a break, Nicoleta passed out cookies because it birthdaybi thday. I watched Jason surf the app store. Suddenly, he switched to Instagram, and I got bored.

I had hoped that we could do more singing, but other things had to be practiced, such as dancing through Modern Illie. That was a bad choice because our dance teacher was absent. Unfortunately, the counselor didn't know the song! So, they probably didn't see either. The temporary teacher had to hold the book and dance simultaneously. I was sure Eric would give the counselor a considerable beating.

星期二，二O一三年七月二日

今天一開始，我們節奏神速，準確地說應該叫雷厲風行。音樂老師吉姆要我們把昨天學的《速度測試》拿來熱身，剛吊完嗓子，我自認為已進入狀態。可吉姆卻斥責我們褻瀆音樂。

由於戲劇營小班女生低聲部壓不下來，我們重新試唱《仙樂美人》。

休息時，尼科萊塔帶來點心供大家享用，今天是她的生日。與此同時，我觀看傑森網遊實用商店，可他突然轉去圖片網站，撇下我無所事事。

但願我們能多練些歌曲，而非兼顧其它，比如《仙樂美人》舞蹈。尤其今天在埃里克舞蹈老師缺席的情況下，我們獨自排練舞蹈，豈不枉費功夫。最寸的還有，輔導員們對《仙樂美人》主題歌全然不知，恐怕他們根本無從把握該怎樣跳這個舞。替補老師一邊照着劇本，一邊擺弄舞步。如果埃里克知道這個樣子，肯定要揍他一頓。

Wed. July 3, 2013

This morning was probably the best theater camp. It was a teacher's birthday, so a fantastic anti-asti cake. The cake was more significant than big and tasted better than mediocre or the best.

After the cake, our spirits were unfailingly fired up. Eric, who came here today, corrected many mistakes because the counselor had taught us so poorly and because of our stuffed stomachs.

Next, we were burning calories as fast as we ate the cake. Eric was firing dance moves to the Speed Test like a frog zapping bugs. At one point, Haley, another camper, tripped over a desk prop and almost fell off the stage. Soon, the counselors were raising their hands to take him to the nurse. It was a terrible sight; the junior campers even witnessed it happen.

That officially ended our happy time. At that moment, the desk prop broke, too. Today, we had a terrible ending.

星期三，二O一三年七月三日

今早大概是戲劇營開營以來最叫好的一個上午，因為其中一位老師過生日，所以我們大塊朵頤，蛋糕比普通的大，味道比一般的香，稱它為點心極品，並非言過其實。

吃完蛋糕，我們情緒高漲。舞蹈老師埃里克今天到場，給我們糾正好些錯誤。昨天輔導員真夠損的，給我們灌輸了一肚子草貨。

接下來，我們要玩命消耗掉蛋糕轉化而成的熱卡，埃里克教《速度測試》舞步，好像青蛙用舌捕食一樣神速。營員海利一度踢翻桌腿，險些掉下台來。輔導員趕緊攙扶着他去見護士。戲劇營小班成員靜觀眼前發生一切，觸目驚心。

好戲就這麼草草收場，桌子也破了。良好的開端並不一定帶來圓滿的結束。

Fri. July 5, 2013

When the counselors asked how my holiday was, I said yesterday, July 4, was the best Independence Day ever.

Gym, the music teacher, said to have a long warm-up with the fastest estimate. Unfortunately, it wasn't Gym before Gym claimed we were shaped like an ape. I had to admit that he was correct.

After a quick break, I was called to the music room. Jason and a few others were there. Jason, who was playing Jimmy, needed an ensemble, and I became part of it. I didn't do much because I knew Ady knew it. But the girls just couldn't sing low enough for the song "What Do I Need with Love." The Gym must've noticed we were bored, and so he told us to go back to the theater.

Just before dismissal, Amad passed out treats for a snack because of her birthday. It was cupcakes. There were a lot of leftovers. So, we had a raffle basket, but I didn't win one. For some reason, Jess got three extras. I guessed that she found a four-leaf clover yesterday at the fireworks.

星期五，二O一三年七月五日

昨天“七‧四”是我過的最好的一次獨立節，我如實回答輔導員常規詢問。

音樂老師吉姆要我們花些時間練習《速度測試》，可他很快就發現我們亂了套，我不得不承認他說得沒錯。

短暫休息後，我被叫到樂房聽候待命，傑森和其他幾位也在裡面。扮演主角吉米的傑森需要更多合唱演員，我就是其中新的一位，可我並不需多練什麼，因為那部分我早已掌握。問題出在女生無法降低音調唱《我需要什麼的愛》。吉姆意識到我們呆在那裡無聊，叫我們先回到劇場。

收場前，阿曼得帶來生日點心與我們分享，是杯狀小蛋糕，每人一個，還有不少剩餘。於是，我們開始抓鬮，看誰的手氣好，能再多吃一個。我徒勞無獲。不知為什麼，傑西竟多得了三份，我猜昨天國慶節放花時她一定看到了“四”葉草而非三葉草。
