【Aiden in English】
Pizza is the new Alexander the Great in Italian cuisine. It conquered countries with ease and turned people's appetites against themselves. Its origin comes from the beautiful city of Naples, which has more than 2,500 years of history. In downtown Naples, tucked away in a small, dark side street, stands a tiny alley with a golden plaque that reads: "Nacque la Pizza Margherita." This official plaque states the origin of the monstrosity known as "Pizza." The cheesy, tasty dough was invented in 1889. From the start, Italians saw potential in the small circular bread of triangles consisting of green basil, red tomatoes, and white mozzarella di bufala. In the past, pizza was a simple delicacy native to Italy, known only in the country. Then, Queen Margherita of Savoy happened to taste it. Those Britons and their explorers were always nosing their way into secrets. And so, the pizza was no longer loyal to and owned by this country. Europe reacts to this discovery like Cinderella to her crystal shoe (See note at the bottom). Once the merchants passed it on to the Americans, the meaning of "pizza" was taken quite differently. The path split, and the American version of pizza was born. The oil, the grease, and the non-formality were given to a fantastic dish. Witnessing the world's reaction to this delicious pastry transformation was astonishing. They accepted it in a crazy and inhumane way. People switched their shops' food to keep up with the competition here. After completing a diagram and analysis, I believe it is mainly due to US tourists and their spending. When wealthy individuals visit impoverished areas, money speaks and leaves a lasting impact. That's why tourism has become a significant contributor to certain economies. The people need to attract tourists willing to spend money on their goods at higher prices. Money can also make you a target, leading to theft, hate, and assassination. It didn't help that the Mafia was once mighty in Naples. Why was that? The very people tend to hand in their money, sometimes even more than their lives. At what point in time was money worth more than life? Well, some people have a thing for the green paper and numbers. Money stands out everywhere. It earns you the respect of many people, while others may resent you. Believe it or not, nearly everyone sees you as a possibility to be like you. In 1995, the Historic Centre of Naples was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 【Note】 The architecture inspired the story of Cinderella in Naples.
Today in History(歷史上的今天): 2015: Naples, City of the Sun in Italy(意大利那不勒斯·太陽之城) 2014: YMCA Camp—Sports Injuries(基督教青年會營運動受傷) Naples Harbor (那不勒斯海港 01-10-1996)
