What better way to celebrate summer than to chill in a pool? That is precisely what the summer camp of the YMCA planned for us on this hot day. It turned out to be the most brilliant plan ever, because today was incredibly hot. The water was cold, perfect for the conditions. And the 4th Street Pool had water slides! A small community pool in Lansdale that had water slides. How cool is that?! Unfortunately, we only got to go on the one where kids spin in giant circles. It was fun, but not nearly as much fun as the 2nd slide looked. The beginning was a simple decline, from which you gained acceleration, and then came a drop. When the slide ended, you fell 10 ft/3 meters and landed in the pool. We couldn't go on that one, though, because we had to take a test and there wasn't enough time. However, we still had plenty of fun on the first slide. The time we spent at the pool had another bad side. We had to meet up every thirty minutes or so and have a buddy check. Earlier, we partnered with a friend (mine was Alex, YEH!!!). At every buddy check, your partner locates you or vice versa to ensure that everybody is present. That ruined our otherwise perfect day, but nothing is perfect. After we all dried, the group headed back to the camp. We were told that our next trip to the pool was on Friday, and there's one thing I know: I'm looking forward to Friday. 【紅霞譯】
炎熱天氣里有什麼比泡在清爽的戲水池內更能消暑納涼﹖這正是基督教青年會夏令營計劃之中要做的事情。
的確，這可真是明智之舉，因為今兒天氣比較熱，水溫冷得正合時宜，況且“四街戲水池”裡面還設有漂流！在賓州蘭斯代爾社區小游泳池內玩漂流，很棒吧﹖﹗美中不足的是，大家只能圍繞第一個漂流轉大圓圈，雖說挺有意思，但遠不及第二個漂流看上去那麼帶勁，它一開始有一段下坡供你加速，接着出現落差，最後你將跌入十英尺(三米)以下的池中。未經水性考試者不能嘗試第二個漂流，而我們因為時間有限，只能享用第一個漂流。
不管多好玩的活動都有不盡人意的地方，漂流也不例外。每隔卅幾分鐘，我們營員必須按照事先約定與自己的搭檔碰頭(謝天謝地，我的搭檔是亞歷克斯﹗﹗﹗)，其目的在於相互照應，明確彼此下落，正因如此，我們的玩興常常被打斷，否則今天完美無缺，當然世上根本沒有真正的完美。 我們擦乾身體，一起返回營地。聽說星期五還有水上活動，我深愛漂流，熱切期待星期五的到來。
