                轻轻的我走了，

                在康桥的柔波里，

【注】前门大街在北京中轴线上，南起珠市口，北到正阳门箭楼，800多米长，500多年历史。明清时它是皇城与南城的分界，也是北京最热闹的商街。明嘉靖二十九年加筑外城，前门大街成了连接内城与外城的重要通道，因在正阳门外，百姓叫它“前门大街”。500年的商业传奇就从这里开始。街两旁的老房子是清末重建的——光绪二十六年庚子事变，义和团放火把整条街烧成了灰，清政府事后统一规划重修，用了二三层砖木结构，青砖灰瓦、雕梁画栋，中式骨架里掺着西洋细节，拱形门窗、铁艺栏杆、巴洛克山花，中西合璧又不别扭，站在街上看它们，能闻到100年前烧焦后又重生的那股劲儿。

全聚德同治三年就在这开了，至今还在老地方烤鸭子，炉火没断过；都一处乾隆三年创办，传说乾隆微服私访吃过，亲笔题了匾；月盛斋的酱牛肉连慈禧都专门派人来买；大北照相馆1921年开业，是北京最早的照相馆之一；同仁堂更早，康熙八年就有了，虽不在主街上也近在咫尺。这些老店垒在一起，把前门大街垒成了北京最有烟火气的地方——早上阳光照在正阳门箭楼上，铺板一块块卸下来，伙计擦柜台摆货，小贩支摊吆喝，游客举着手机拍那些老招牌，它们丑是丑了点儿，老是真的老。老得理直气壮，不跟你商量。每天都是这样过的，500多年就是这样过的，不是被设计出来的，是一天一天熬出来的。

500多年了，前门大街一直是北京最热闹的地方之一。它见过皇帝出巡的排场，也挨过庚子年的那把大火；迎来过车水马龙的黄金岁月，也熬过了一次次改朝换代的动荡。如今它还站在这里，青砖灰瓦，灯红酒绿，不慌不忙地用它的方式跟每一个走过的人说话。不是大声讲，是让你自己听——听烤鸭炉里的炭火声，听烧麦笼上的蒸汽声，听老字号伙计迎来送往的那句“您来了”。你不一定听懂，可你觉得它在说。说的不是北京的历史，是北京的日子。历史是人写的，日子是自己过的。前门大街替北京人把日子过在这里了，500年，没断过。
