          Very quietly I take my leave

          To where the green grass is more verdant;

          Or to have the boat fully loaded with starlight

          And sing aloud in the splendor of starlight.

          But I cannot sing aloud

          Quietness is my farewell music;

          Even summer insects heap silence for me

          Silent is Cambridge tonight!

【《再別康橋》】

徐志摩(1897生—1931卒)

                輕輕的我走了，

                正如我輕輕的來；

                我輕輕的招手，

                作別西天的雲彩。

                那河畔的金柳，

                是夕陽中的新娘；

                波光里的艷影，

                在我的心頭蕩漾。

                軟泥上的青荇，

                油油的在水底招搖；

                在康橋的柔波里，

                我甘做一條水草！

                那榆蔭下的一潭，

                不是清泉，是天上虹；

                揉碎在浮藻間，

                沉澱着彩虹似的夢。

                尋夢？撐一支長篙，

                向青草更青處漫溯；

                滿載一船星輝，

                在星輝斕里放歌。

                但是我不能放歌，

                悄悄是別離的笙蕭；

                夏蟲也為我沉默，

                沉默是今晚的康橋！

                悄悄我走了，

【注】前門大街坐落在北京中軸線上，南起珠市口，北至正陽門箭樓，800餘米長，500餘年史。明清時，它是皇城與南城的分界，也是京城最熱鬧的商街。庚子年間一把大火燒成白地，而後依原樣重建——青磚灰瓦間混着西洋拱窗與巴洛克“不對稱”山花，中西合璧，渾然一體，硬是在廢墟上長出了一條筋骨硬朗的新街。

街上的老店也硬。全聚德的鴨子從同治三年烤到現在，爐火未斷；都一處乾隆年間受過御筆，月盛齋的醬牛肉曾專送宮裡，大北照相館1921年開張，同仁堂更早——康熙八年就有了。這些鋪子壘在一起，把前門大街壘成了北京最有煙火氣的一條街。鋪板卸下，夥計擺貨，小販吆喝，遊客舉着手機拍那些老招牌——丑是丑了點，老是真的老。不是被設計出來的，是一天一天熬出來的。

500多年了，它見過皇帝出巡的排場，也挨過那把大火；迎過車水馬龍，也熬過動動蕩蕩。如今它還在那裡，青磚灰瓦，燈紅酒綠。我站在正陽門箭樓對面，看鋪板一塊塊卸下來，看遊客舉着手機對着老招牌拍照，看夥計擦櫃檯擺貨——突然覺得，這條街不是用來逛的，是用來活的。它不跟你講歷史，它讓你自己聽：爐火聲、蒸汽聲、一聲“您來了”。你不一定全聽懂，可你覺得它在說——說的不是北京的歷史，是北京的日子。歷史是人寫的，日子是自己過的。前門大街替北京人把日子過在這裡了，500年，沒斷過。
