          Very quietly I take my leave

          To where the green grass is more verdant;

          Or to have the boat fully loaded with starlight

          And sing aloud in the splendor of starlight.

          But I cannot sing aloud

          Quietness is my farewell music;

          Even summer insects heap silence for me

          Silent is Cambridge tonight!

徐志摩(1897生—1931卒)

                輕輕的我走了，

                正如我輕輕的來；

                我輕輕的招手，

                作別西天的雲彩。

                那河畔的金柳，

                是夕陽中的新娘；

                波光里的艷影，

                在我的心頭蕩漾。

                軟泥上的青荇，

                油油的在水底招搖；

                在康橋的柔波里，

                我甘做一條水草！

                那榆蔭下的一潭，

                不是清泉，是天上虹；

                揉碎在浮藻間，

                沉澱着彩虹似的夢。

                尋夢？撐一支長篙，

                向青草更青處漫溯；

                滿載一船星輝，

                在星輝斕里放歌。

                但是我不能放歌，

                悄悄是別離的笙蕭；

                夏蟲也為我沉默，

                沉默是今晚的康橋！

【注】前門大街在北京中軸線上，南起珠市口，北到正陽門箭樓，800多米長，500多年歷史。明清時它是皇城與南城的分界，也是北京最熱鬧的商街。明嘉靖二十九年加築外城，前門大街成了連接內城與外城的重要通道，因在正陽門外，百姓叫它“前門大街”。500年的商業傳奇就從這裡開始。街兩旁的老房子是清末重建的——光緒二十六年庚子事變，義和團放火把整條街燒成了灰，清政府事後統一規劃重修，用了二三層磚木結構，青磚灰瓦、雕梁畫棟，中式骨架里摻着西洋細節，拱形門窗、鐵藝欄杆、巴洛克山花，中西合璧又不彆扭，站在街上看它們，能聞到100年前燒焦後又重生的那股勁兒。

全聚德同治三年就在這開了，至今還在老地方烤鴨子，爐火沒斷過；都一處乾隆三年創辦，傳說乾隆微服私訪吃過，親筆題了匾；月盛齋的醬牛肉連慈禧都專門派人來買；大北照相館1921年開業，是北京最早的照相館之一；同仁堂更早，康熙八年就有了，雖不在主街上也近在咫尺。這些老店壘在一起，把前門大街壘成了北京最有煙火氣的地方——早上陽光照在正陽門箭樓上，鋪板一塊塊卸下來，夥計擦櫃檯擺貨，小販支攤吆喝，遊客舉着手機拍那些老招牌，它們丑是丑了點兒，老是真的老。老得理直氣壯，不跟你商量。每天都是這樣過的，500多年就是這樣過的，不是被設計出來的，是一天一天熬出來的。

500多年了，前門大街一直是北京最熱鬧的地方之一。它見過皇帝出巡的排場，也挨過庚子年的那把大火；迎來過車水馬龍的黃金歲月，也熬過了一次次改朝換代的動盪。如今它還站在這裡，青磚灰瓦，燈紅酒綠，不慌不忙地用它的方式跟每一個走過的人說話。不是大聲講，是讓你自己聽——聽烤鴨爐里的炭火聲，聽燒麥籠上的蒸汽聲，聽老字號夥計迎來送往的那句“您來了”。你不一定聽懂，可你覺得它在說。說的不是北京的歷史，是北京的日子。歷史是人寫的，日子是自己過的。前門大街替北京人把日子過在這裡了，500年，沒斷過。
