东方人视苹果为水果皇后，因其营养丰富、食疗保健得天独厚，有“一天一苹果，医生远离我”之说；西方人则常把草莓捧作水果皇后，夸它心形甜美、味道鲜嫩，凝聚了春末的妩媚与夏初的娇艳。宾夕法尼亚“山林”州北部亚德利“林间空地”(Yardley)镇的林荫溪农场，每到草莓、蓝莓、桃子、南瓜丰收季节，果园全天候开放，无需门票，无需预约。人们不仅可以随意采摘，还能当场尝鲜，若带回家中，价格也比市场低廉，新鲜性无与伦比。 暑假后的第一个周末正赶上父亲节，我们几家携老带幼，相约赴庄园参加“草莓节”采摘——乡下踏青，野外尝鲜，幸会四方朋友，何乐而不为？老人家兴致悠然，年轻一代笑逐颜开，组织者倍感畅爽。林荫溪农场的草莓个头小而饱满，色泽红而泛光，爽口甜而透香，果肉嫩而多汁，令人恋不释手，怎一个“爱”字了得？相比之下，超市货架上的草莓体态彪悍而质地稀疏，面貌润泽而味道中庸，若不“驴屎蛋子外面光”，便枉费其表。 我们蹲在田垄间，手指被草莓汁染成淡红，孩子们则已经吃饱了开始追逐打闹。那些刚从藤蔓上摘下的果实，还带着清晨露水和泥土的气息——它们没有经过任何包装、运输和陈列，只是从土地直接抵达手掌，再从手掌直接抵达舌尖。那是一种近乎原始的交易：一只手伸过去，另一只手接住，中间不隔着任何标签和价格。我忽然觉得，这种采摘的乐趣，也许不只在味道本身，而在于它让我们短暂地回到了一个更古老的、与土地直接对话的关系里——不需要翻译，不需要中介，只需要弯下腰，辨认出成熟的那一颗，然后轻轻地摘下它。而那个“轻轻摘下”的动作，本身就是一种被我们日常中渐渐遗忘了的接受方式。娃儿很快就懂了——他没有问“这个能不能摘”，他只是学着我们的样子，用指尖一捻，一落，然后举起来，朝着太阳眯眼看了一下，便把它放进了嘴里。那一种从“看见”到“吃掉”之间没有任何阻隔的过程，或许才是这个下午最奢侈的部分。  Shady Brook Farm (林荫溪农场 06-17-2012)
