如果说迪斯尼神奇王国恰好满足九岁以下儿童娱乐需求的话，那么佛罗里达(意指“花”)州环球影城则特别适合我家正处在童少心态转型阶段的三年级小学生，自以为长大成人。 超速行驶在3,800英尺/1,200米长电影原声带轨道的好莱坞云霄飞车(Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit)倒立升空，前后翻腾。看起来惊险刺激，坐上去恐怖遭罪，实在不是我们一般人所能享用的。暂且不说体力上是否经得住非人的折磨，单凭心理上也难以担待起这种超负荷的压强，我们唯恐避之不及，谁都不想花钱买罪受自找苦吃。
相反，我们情愿把精力放在涉及电影表演和银幕拍摄的娱乐场景。譬如“制作中心”《怪物恐怖》(Shrek)英雄救美女，不畏权贵地位；“纽约”《龙卷风》狂现大自然威慑破坏力量，《盗墓迷城》木乃伊起死回生；“旧金山”《隐居大法师》网罗环球妖鬼同台共舞；“世界博览”《黑衣人》深入敌后，激光猛袭星外来客；“啄木鸟儿童乐园”伍迪穿山车带我们神速疯逛糖果加工厂；“好莱坞”《终结者》勇战恶魔天网拯救人类等六个主题景区，全部装备了360o全方位4D电子技术，如果不亲临现场观摩，我们很难想象立体拟真前沿科学究竟发展到什么地步。
能够体验平常难得一见的经历，即使花上半天时间排队等候，我们在所不惜，反正心急吃不了热汤面。事实上，无论迪斯尼主题乐园也好，还是环球影城也罢，最不值钱的东西就是时间！这一点早在离开家门之前，我们已达成共识，并充分做好了思想准备：若要玩得开心，首先必须要等得自在。因此，任何便捷电子游戏器或袖珍电子图书本一定不能忘记随身携带，因为它将真正成为小毛头摆脱无聊、老顽童消磨时光最行之有效的法宝。说来奇怪，突然从上班赶路下班抢点的紧张节奏松驰下来，乖乖地跟在九曲十八弯一眼望不尽头的人墙长龙后面慢慢蠕动，我们仿佛重新找回了置身中国家乡的感觉，熟悉而亲切！
花州环球影城的“肥美星期二狂欢节”(Mardi Gras)大概是新金城(New Orleans)以外最具法国传统风情的彩灯花车游行。暮色降临之际，正是妖魔鬼怪纷纷出笼之时。他们个个头戴羽毛面具，身着鸢尾花纹服饰，脚踩通天高跷，逢人扭腰摆臀，见客骚首弄姿，碰到小不点更会挤眉弄眼，好不煽动民情激扬青春。夹在化妆游行队伍中，我们一边争抢珠链，闻声拍打南方爵士节奏；一边体会“忏悔星期二”(Shrove Tuesday)精神，尽享地方文化。不觉释然放怀，一天的疲惫终被抛到九霄云外。
