 | 小學三年級·新論大智若愚(2012 Still Water Runs Deep) |
| | 2012-03-05 “媽媽，”孩子開門見山，問：“你喜歡傻瓜(Dummy)還是笨蛋(Idiot)？” 我知道孩子又在尋開心，故意製造惡作劇，這種玩笑對大人們而言的確無聊乏味，可擱在九歲童少面前卻變得相當有趣。類似的話題還有很多，但翻來復去離不開要麼選擇“王八”，否則充當“烏龜”，兩者必居其一，反正都不是什麼好聽的東西。
今天我不同往常，借着孩子的話把，有意道出另一種意義上“傻”和“笨”。
在中國，人們非常信奉“大智若愚”，也就是說，情商很高的聰明志士注重心智內秀而不露鋒芒，常常避免炫耀自己，因此這樣的人表面上看起來好像一個平庸愚蠢的笨蛋，或者什麼都不知道的傻瓜。
“可在美國，”孩子不等聽完，趕緊插進話來表明自己的看法：“傻瓜就是傻瓜，笨蛋就是笨蛋！”
對於一位美國出生長大的孩子，從現在學習的課堂直到將來工作的場所，開放活躍的自然環境和輕鬆閒適的生活氛圍，無不給孩子的成長提供了既陽光向上又單純率性的健康土壤，況且學校又特別重視語言表達能力的培養，大力提倡學生能言善辯，並在德智體各個方面彰顯個人才能，所以在孩子幼小的心靈中，人可以謙虛謹慎，但不能大智若愚。  Silly Kids (搞怪 01-21-2012)
