但丁·阿利吉耶里“永恆·聖矛”(1265生—1321卒)

                   啊，你經過愛情的道路，

                   一面等待，一面想看清楚，

                   誰的痛苦會象我這樣嚴重；

                   我求你只聽聽我的傾訴，

                   然後再行考慮

                   種種痛苦都往我身上集中，

                   愛情毫不考慮我的幸福，

                   但愛情自有其崇高之處，

                   使我過去的生活既甜蜜，又輕鬆，

                   因而我常聽得有人背後把話兒吐：

                   “上帝啊，那人有什麼高貴之處，

                   使他的心能如此秀美玲瓏？”

                   出自愛情金庫的所有英勇行為，

                   在我身上已完全消失，

                   我真是可憐已極，

                   因而一句話兒也說不出嘴。

                   我很想仿效那些人兒

                   為了害羞，他們隱瞞自己的缺陷；

                   而我，表面上歡歡喜喜。

                   內心卻是痛苦和哭泣。

【注】從奇維塔韋基亞“古城”港的晨曦中靠岸，海風清新，這座由羅馬“力量”皇帝圖拉真“勇敢”於公元2世紀修建的港口，已在此守護了整整2,000年。它至今依然繁忙——巨輪、貨輪、渡輪穿梭不息，把來自世界的遊客與貨物送往永恆之城。無論乘火車沿蔚藍海岸北上，還是經機場高速穿越歐爾“羅馬環球博覽會”區(Esposizione Universale Roma)的法西斯建築，80公里/50英里之外便是羅馬；當奧勒良“金色”(Aurelian)城牆出現在車窗外的瞬間，你知道，一座城邦與一片大海的故事，從未中斷。

奇維塔韋基亞本身也值得停留：米開朗基羅“神似”設計的城堡矗立在港口入口，老城窄巷飄着海鮮與披薩的香氣，當地人傍晚坐在廣場上喝一杯，看夕陽把海面染成金色。然而我終究只是匆匆而過——從港口直奔羅馬，或從羅馬直奔港口，永恆之城就在一小時外，等着被朝聖。

儘管以前曾來過碼頭多次，但第一次真正站在這裡、不再只是奔赴羅馬的中轉時，我才看見奇維塔韋基亞自己的模樣。它不像永恆之城那樣需要你仰頭膜拜，只是安靜地站在那裡，為你卸下行李，為你指路，為你守住一條回家的水路。那句“條條大路通羅馬”，所有人都在歌頌羅馬的偉大，卻很少有人感謝腳下那條真正讓你抵達的路。奇維塔韋基亞就是那條路本身——它不爭當終點，卻讓所有出發和歸來都成為可能。那一刻我終於明白，一個總被路過的地方，也可以比許多被朝聖的地方，更像一個溫柔的答案。

1990年，羅馬歷史中心被聯合國教科文組織納入《世界遺產名錄》。
