川普總統上任後曾表示，他從前奧巴馬政府手中接了個“大爛攤子”，國內及國外的事情都是“一團糟”，例如：國內面臨的困境是大量工作機會往外移，朝鮮核武危機、恐怖組織伊斯蘭國（IS）、美中貿易關係、伊朗核協議、伊朗問題。
美國的最新《國家安全戰略》報告對過去二十多年美國外交政策進行了嚴厲批評。並且，把中國和俄國定位為美國主要競爭對手。中國排在俄國之前，是當今美國在全球的頭號競爭對手。美國《國家安全戰略》 提出，美國必須維護它的四大核心利益。 第一，保護美國人民領土和美國的生活方式； 第二，促進美國繁榮； 第三，通過實力換取和平； 第四，提升美國影響力。
川普總統鄭重宣布： 1、共產主義已經成為過去，並把中國定位為世界最主要的“敵方競爭對手”（這一來，中國土匪流氓國家的“新型大國關係”、“戰略合作夥伴”徹底見了鬼了）。 2、美國政府把朝鮮列為“國際恐怖主義支持國”，此舉受到聯合國所有國家的支持，朝鮮流氓國家只有“全面棄核”一途，否則必遭滅頂之災。 3、腳踏台灣、拳打北韓正中中國命門，同時為“台灣問題”指明了方向。 4、為以色列定都，一舉穩定了中東局勢。
在美國國內，通過並簽署了《減稅及就業法》，在啟動美國勞工和經濟雙引擎、促進公平互惠貿易、終止扼殺美國就業的繁文縟節、推動美國能源開採及出口………等方面取得重大進展，展示出亮眼的成績單。
正像新年之前，川普發表推文說的：“隨着美國迅速變得更強、更厲害，我要祝福所有朋友、支持者、敵人、懷恨者乃至非常不老實的假新聞媒體，願新年健康快樂。”特朗普說：“2018年對美國會是很棒的一年！”
其中的“非常不老實的家新聞媒體”，在下看來，非《紐約時報》莫屬，再有就是BBC等。自川普總統參加競選以來，美國的所謂主流新聞媒體幾乎一邊倒的支持希拉里、傾向於希拉里、看好希拉里………川普最後當選，“令主流媒體和世界大跌眼鏡”，這是當時世界輿論的普遍看法。
在川普總統就任後的將近一年時間裡，各路假媒體也對川普窮追不捨，大加閥達，致使川普總統醜聞不斷、帽子一大摞，“通俄門”子虛烏有的鬧劇一直在上演，至今也沒結束。很多媒體信誓旦旦的預言，川普將被彈劾………
《紐約時報》可以說是川普總統的冤家對頭，在整個“通俄門”鬧劇中，扮演了一個十分不光彩的角色。川普總統不止一次的痛斥美國的“假新聞媒體，說它們破壞美國的民主，”甚至說；“看《紐約時報》少活20年！”
